Hopkins NILS is a community based No Interest Loans Scheme, run by volunteers, which provides loans to low income earners for their purchase of essential household items.

  Who is eligible?
  • People living within the City of Warrnambool and the Shire of Moyne
  • People who receive Centrelnik payments or who are on low incomes
  • People who have the ability and willingness to repay a loan
  • People who are able to prove stability in housing e.g. at least 6 months
  • People aged 18 years or older
  What can those loans be used for?

The purpose of NILS is to purchase essential goods up to $1,000, which may include:

  • Refrigerators
  • Washing Machines
  • Dryers
  • Hot Water Services
  • Heating Appliances
  • Furniture
  • Small Appliances
  • Essential Medical Equipment
  • Cost of repairs to essential household items
