Watch out for a Do Not Call Register 'fee' scam 

Phone calls are circulating demanding a $100 ‘fee’ to stay on the Do Not Call Register.

The callers claim they are from the Do Not Call Register, and are asking people to hand over their credit card details.

Don’t fall for this scam! The Do Not Call Register is a free service where consumers can easily and securely register their home, mobile or fax numbers to reduce unsolicited telemarketing calls. There is no charge to remain on the Register.

If you receive a call asking for payment to stay on the Register, hang up.
